Edition
The plain-text edition of the license published by the Free Software Foundation on gnu.org (the HTML page gpl-2.0.en.html, last updated on 30 November 2023, has the same text). The title and the version line are the title and the kicker of the poster; the copyright and permission lines are set under the header, their web address in angle brackets as in the source, and repeated in the footer. The lines of each paragraph are joined; the section numbers 0 to 12 are set in bold and the items a) to c) indented; straight quotes and apostrophes are set as typographic ones, and the backquote of `show w’ and the like is kept. The sample notices of the appendix are set in monospace, line for line, without their indentation; a line longer than its column wraps, its continuation indented. Nothing is left out.
